Creamy Chocolate & Cherry Smoothie

It's very easy to get excited about making your own smoothies and juices at home when you first start out. However that enthusiasm can soon fade out and your blender/juicer can end up at the back of your cupboard just as easily. This can happen because we get annoyed with fruits and veggies going bad before we get to use them or they aren't ripe at the right time. Besides tasting better, this is why we use frozen bananas and berries in our recipes. This way we can freeze in bulk when they are fresh and perfectly ripe, plus it makes a much creamier, colder smoothie. Keep a few convenient powders and potions in stock, plus some seeds/nuts or nut butter, your choice of liquid and then you have a good base for any smoothie.

Below is a recipe for a simple and quick creamy chocolate & cherry smoothie. Organic frozen sour cherries are the absolute best in this recipe if you can find them.

Ingredients:

1.5 cups dairy free mylk

1-2 frozen bananas

1 cup frozen cherries

2 dates

1.5 TBS cacao

1 TBS nut butter
